The team was in second place for the entire day until the last round of matches, when Holy Cross scored a few more consolation points. Jesuit, in third place currently, trails the Catholic League district champion Brother Martin by 42.5.
After Jesuit (No. 15 seed) knocked off No. 10 Denham Springs, the Jays will now face No. 3 C.E. Byrd in the semifinal game. This is Jesuit’s first semifinal appearance since 2015.
Five seniors were honored before the game for their contributions to the Jesuit basketball program on and off the court.
The Winter Clothing Drive, now in its third year of serving the city's homeless, allows alumni to meaningfully connect with their alma mater in service to the broader community.

Wild Horse Wild Photo…

On Friday of Mardi Gras weekend, Marines from the Mounted Color Guard showed Jesuit students a few of their horses. The group is visiting New Orleans to march in three of Carnival’s hallmark parades. Having participated in the Krewe of Chaos parade, the riders sets their sights on Proteus and Rex. The horses are wild mustangs that have been adopted through the Bureau of Land Management. Once adopted, the horses are trained to a standard of performance by a horse trainer and experienced stableman. Members of Jesuit’s MCJROTC program and various students in their P.E. classes had the opportunity to meet the horses and talk with Marines about the program.
